Apis Restaurant and Apiary in Spicewood launched a unique chef’s tasting menu. The menu will feature a la carte items from the regular menu as well as sneak peeks at dishes in development. The dinner will start with small bites and cocktails in the bar area and move into the main dining room. The prix fixe menu will vary, but guests should expect between 20-25 dishes, with 9-12 pairings.  The dinner, which will only be available to a handful of guests each night, costs $160, inclusive of tax and tip. Dishes will include items such as Japanese snapper crudo, foie gras terrine, 21-day-aged squab, and 100-day-aged Wagyu ribeye.

“We wanted to offer the full experience of a tasting menu, while also ensuring our guests feel comfortable. Traditional tasting menus can be monotonous, so we wanted to be able to break up the meal into different experiences, hence the move from the bar to the main dining room” said Apis’ Executive Chef and Owner, Taylor Hall.  “This way guests are able to get the full scope of the restaurant and what we are doing in the kitchen, as well as at our bar, while still feeling the energy of the space.”

Reservations are mandatory and can be made by emailing reservations@apisrestaurant.com or calling 512.840.9895. The tasting menu is only available as an advanced reservation. Apis is located at 23526 Hwy 71.
